Zynga has officially launched the Draw Something 2 which is a follow up to the very successful mobile app that was released last year. By adding new tools and social features, the company hopes this new version will generate as much buzz as the first.
Former CEO Is Leaving Zynga!!!
Dan Porter, GM for Zynga will be stepping down. He was the CEO of OMGPOP before the company sold it to Zynga a year ago for around $180 million. Porter will be replaced by VP of mobile games Sean Kelly.
Zynga Is Having Some Changes Within The Company!!
Zynga is making some executive changes in its company. The gaming company just hired Atul Bagga, an analyst formerly of Lazard Capital Markets, to be the new VP of finance at Zynga. Also, CIO of the company Debra Chrapaty announced Monday she would be leaving the gaming company to become CEO of Nirvanix, an enterprise cloud storage company. There has not been any word on who would replace her.
This Site Is Making Facebook Changes?!?
Zynga, a gaming website, announced that having Facebook to log-in, will now be optional on the site. Making the site more independent outside of Facebook. That means soon gamers who want to play games on the website will no longer have to be only Facebook users and it opens the doors for new gamers.
Zynga Drops 11 Games For 2013
We’re only a few hours in 2013 and mobile gaming company Zynga (know for games like Words with friends) is already putting 11 games out of business. Games likes PetVille, Mafia Wars 2, and Treasure Isle saw the the ax at midnight. Before midnight Zynga had 35 games it had to tend too but the company had too many games and not enough engineers, designers, and product to keep them up and running, and Zynga didnt have the funds. Zynga, a popular online gaming website known for Farmville 2 & Words With Friends, has entered an application to the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Part of the companies plan to enter the real-money gambling markets. Due to the companies recent faults, they are looking for new revenue drivers. They see gambling, being one of the largest leisure activities in this country, as a gold mine. The starting 12-18 month process should get Zynga past initial regulations. Once passed, it can then apple for a gaming license. This could be big news not only for consumers but for government as well.
