HOL’ UP—HOL’ UP—HOL’ UP!!!! All celebrations, respects, salutes ad praises due to one of the “fathers” who helped start it ALL. Before “Hip Hop” was named Hip Hop, “the Bronx was burning” and turntables were just record players. Raise a glass, fist or peace sign as IFWT wishes a huge Happy Birthday to the Legendary DJ Kool Herc on his 60th!!!
Just turning 50 years old (Happy Birthday!!!) is one of the culture’s architects, highly regarded as one of Hip Hop’s most crafty, entertaining and “revolutionary” rappers from The Bronx, who sat for a recent interview speaking on the power, youth, and his still* fresh perspective. Making it clear he’s not a “miserable old person” Slick Rick Says Rap Has Lost Its Way, Is “Altered and Diluted” and gives a non-bitter taste of what he sees in today’s game.
Last night, J. Lo held a free concert in her hometown of the BX and she had a ton of surprises in store for the packed house. One such surprise was fellow BX native French Montana, who Jennifer recently collaborated with on her single, “I Luh Ya Papi.” It comes as no surprise that French’s boo Khloe Kardashian was right by his side, as she’s hardly separated from him since they started dating earlier this year. Check out a few pics from their night in the gallery. It’s obvious Khlotana isn’t going anywhere for some time!
