Album Release Date & Tracklisting: Skepta – Konnichiwa

UK rapper Skepta has announced the release date and the tracklisting for his debut album. Konnichiwa will be arriving on May 6, with pre-order available tonight at midnight on iTunes. This comes a week after Drake’s Views From The 6 on April 29, who speaking of which, seemingly will appear on Konnichiwa as well. On the handwritten tracklist, “Shutdown” has an owl drawn into the word, and considering their close friendship and now business relationship, it’d be crazy if Drizzy WASN’T on the album. Check out the tracklist and the cover in the gallery. Are you looking forward to this one?

(Photos) Drake Has Signed A New Deal – But What Does This Mean?

In 2015, we saw Drake get a ‘BBK’ tattoo, an homage to UK rapper Skepta’s Boy Better Know crew. The pair had collaborated on a couple of songs up until that point, but it appeared that they really had developed a deep friendship. I mean, tattooing crews is a pretty serious deal. Does Drizzy even have a Young Money tat? Fast forward a few months, and Drake just updated his Instagram with the following, while across the pond:

“The first Canadian signed to BBK. Big up my brudda @skeptagram for life yeah. And my section gunners too.”

(Photos) Drake’s New Tattoo…Is A Tribute To Another Dude?

Drake certainly has interesting ways of showing people he rocks with them. Whether signing someone to his label (then barely doing anything with them after,) haphazardly remixing their song (and not clearing it for an iTunes release,) telling someone he’d remixed their song (but never actually sending it to them, thus making them look silly) and now…getting someone’s crew tattooed on his shoulder. Yup, Drizzy tattooed ‘bbk’ on his shoulder, an ode to UK rapper Skepta’s Boy Better Know label. This isn’t the first time Drake has paid homage via ink, as the OVO rapper has multiple Aaliyah-inspired tattoos, as well as portraits of his father and his uncle. Over the summer, Drake remixed one of Skepta’s songs and premiered it on OVO Sound Radio, and later brought the rapper out during his performance at Wireless Fest. Guess they’re BFFs these days!

(Video) Meek Mill Forces Fan To Take Down Drake Sign During #FoolsGold Concert In Brooklyn

Anddddddd the Drake vs. Meek saga continues! This Labor Day was an eventful one in Brooklyn during the annual Fool’s Gold concert. After rocking on the set, popular DJ A-Trak got the crowd hyped by bringing out ILoveMakonnen, A$AP Ferg (who announced his second album is on the way) and BK’s own Fabolous. “White Iverson” rapper Post Malone also hit the stage along with Flatbush Zombies, Skepta, Fame School plus many others throughout the day-long festival. The main attraction of the night was Dream Chaser’s own Meek Mill. When he came out to deliver his energetic performance, he noticed there was a fan in the crowd with a Drake sign. Mr. Philadelphia called him out ASAP and made Deen – a member of his DC crew – go stand by him throughout the entire concert. “You got a real shooter next to you now,” he announced. Meek then proceeded to jump into the crowd, making the ONLY mosh pit I’ve ever seen in my life! (I got hit a few times but these are the things one must do to get good video footage for you all..LOL!) Check out some of the video clips from the music festival below.

(Video) Watch Drake Bring Out London Rapper Skepta At Wireless Fest!

Drake can’t stop making headlines overseas! Before he was caught schemin’ with Serena Williams, the OVO chief had been in the UK to perform at the Wireless Festival in Northern London. After shutting down the stage last week, Drake knew he had to top his previous performance by bringing out someone who would definitely get the crowd fired up. Watch Drake bring London’s own Skepta out on stage after the jump!
