image via: IFWT IG Serena Williams defeated sister Venus in the final of the Australian Open this morning, to give her the record of 23 Grand Slam singles wins. As you might expect, it was an emotional night for Serena, who has been going this since going back to the mid 90’s. She defeated Venus in straight sets, so there wasn’t much drama to the match itself, other than just waiting for the moment for it to be official and for Serena to have the record. She is by far the GOAT when it comes to tennis but another GOAT took notice of her accomplishments and surprised her with a gift after the match.

For the first time in eight years, Serena Williams and Venus Williams will meet in a Grand Slam final as they face off in the Australian Open Final. It’s the 9th time overall that the sisters will play each other in a Grand Slam final.
