Can you believe it? It’s been 1 year since one of hip-hop’s most influential songs dropped right here on IFWT; Big Sean’s “Control” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica. If you all recall, Kendrick Lamar shook the game up with his controversial verse where he name dropped a lot of people’s favorite rapper, saying, “I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n-—-s /Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n-—-s /They don’t want to hear not one more noun or verb from you n-—-s.” In light of K. In his recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Wiz Khalifa made it very clear that he does things with today’s youth in mind. Whether it be crafting music for our future leaders or standing with them in protest. Now, obviously, given his stature, it’d be almost impossible for Wiz — who is set to release his fifth studio album, Blacc Hollywood, on Aug. 19th — to physically march in Ferguson, Missouri during his tour stop in St. Louis. Instead, while performing, Khalifa opted to wear a white tee with “Don’t Shoot” on the front, and “#RIPMIKEBROWN” on the back, paying homage to the late teen slain by Ferguson police.
