Newcomer Tinashe had a stellar year with the chart-topping success of her breakout single “2 On,” featuring ScHoolboy Q and produced by DJ Mustard. It went on to be remixed by the one-and-only Drake (plus a ton of others,) and paved the way for the Cali native’s debut album, Aquarius. (Unfortunately, that didn’t sell very well.) As her latest single “Pretend” with my baby’s daddy A$AP Rocky grows steam, Tinashe was awarded a plaque earlier this week for over 50 million views and over 1 million singles sold. Go girl! Kendrick Lamar was presented with a platinum plaque last night following his BET Experience music festival performance. At the after party, which was hosted by TDE and Interscope, the team presented Lamar with his plaque. This far his album, good kid, m.A.A.d City has sold 938,389 copies in the United States.
