The original Netflix series “Orange Is The New Black” is catching like wildfire, and it’s bringing attention the conditions that actual inmates experience going through the system. Two of the show’s dynamic characters, Red and Crazy Eyes, sat down with MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry to discuss the dehumanization and stories that go on in the system. This comes at a perfect time–our nation’s prisons are severely overcrowded, and the private prison institution makes a ton of money on individuals who haven’t even committed violent or serious crimes.
