Prior to the New York City FC and the New York Red Bulls doing battle on the field today, their fans were having their own battle in the streets outside of Yankee Stadium. The teams were facing off in the Hudson River Derby match but fans were outside throwing bottles at each other and trying their best to throw punches as the NYPD did what they could to keep the scene from getting any worse. The rivalry itself is still very new and some people are probably surprised to know it even exists but it could be intense for years to come.
