Subway Service Won’t Be Back Until Late Monday

For those who have to face the Monday morning commute, it will be ten times harder tomorrow morning to get to where you have to be. Mayor Bloomberg has said that although they are doing their best to restore service, most transit lines will be closed “well into Monday.” Workers will be working around the clock to pump out as much water as they can, but it takes a full eight hours for the subways to get running once they have been shut down. Hurricane Irene Drops Down To A Category 1 Hurricane!

Hurricane Irene has been reduced from a category 2 hurricane to a category 1 hurricane! Although the drop in force is a little bit of good news, it doesn’t mean that Irene doesn’t still have the potential to do some serious damage.  There is also still a chance that Irene will reduce in force before it hits New York City on Sunday at about 10am. LIRR To Stop At Noon on Saturday

Listen– if you’re in NY and have any plans tomorrow, even if it’s to go to the mall… consider re-scheduling now! Gov. President Obama Warns People To Prepare For Hurricane Irene Now

President Obama spoke this morning about Hurricane Irene, which will begin to affect the East Coast on Saturday. The President, who will be cutting his Martha’s Vineyard vacation short to head back to DC to prepare, is urging people in Irene’s way to get ready now!
