The national cover features Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. It is Sanchez’s third appearance with the Jets — he previously appeared on the Jan. 26 and Sept. 6, 2010 covers — and his fourth overall. The Los Angeles Lakers legend, on Monday, reaffirmed his involvement and commitment to Farmers Field, Anschutz Entertainment Group’s $1.2 billion proposed football stadium in downtown Los Angeles that cleared a major legislative hurdle last week when the California State Senate passed a bill to expedite legal challenges to the project.


NFL: Man Charged With Rape At NFL Player’s Home

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl A man has been charged with raping a woman at the Massachusetts home of Chicago Bears safety Brandon Meriweather, The Sun Chronicle reported Tuesday. Meriweather, who was released unexpectedly by the New England Patriots at the end of training camp after starting for the past four seasons, has not been charged in the case and it is unclear from the report whether he was present at the time.

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Sebastian Janikowski was just a little bit disappointed with his record-tying 63-yard field goal that helped the Oakland Raiders beat the Denver Broncos 23-20 Monday night. “To be honest, I didn’t hit it that good. It barely got over the bar,” Oakland’s strong-legged kicker said after tying an NFL record with his monster kick as the first half expired. “I hit a 70-yarder in pregame.”
