Ferg caught up with MTV News on the BET Awards red carpet last week and shared his thoughts on new artist Ariana Grande. “She’s the next Mariah Carey. She’s dope, And that’s not an understatement, or an overstatement — I just see her as that next big voice that’s gonna pop.” Ferg who dropped his debut album, Trap Lord last year, is featured on Ariana’s upcoming second LP, My Everything, on the song “Hands On Me.” He says he can’t wait for us to hear it!

Our homie Rob Markman over at MTV just started a weekly segment on Sway in the Morning called “The Rob Report,” giving audio reviews of the new projects that drop in hip-hop. “Sway and I feel that people just aren’t talking about music any more and these days we get more music than ever,” Rob said. “So on our show, we want to dedicate a segment just for the music. Young Thug’s record deal situation has been a topic of convo for some time, as he’s had multiple affiliations with labels since his start in the game, but none have quite been confirmed by the ATL rapper. Recently, however, Kevin Liles revealed that he had signed Young Thug to 300, a new label that was launched by himself and fellow industry execs Lyor Cohen and Todd Moscowitz.
