(Video) DJ Mustard Speaks On Squashing Beef With YG & How Beefing Helped Them Out

YG and DJ Mustard had fans quite upset at the end of 2014, when a little issue between the longtime friends became public, and they ended up beefing it out on Instagram. Luckily a few days later (after a couple jabs and threats), all was well. Sitting down with MTV this week, Mustard spoke on the rift, and revealed that though his comment that he still hadn’t been paid for his work on YG’s debut MY Krazy Life seemed like a shot at him, it was a shot at Def Jam (as I previously noted, since artists don’t pay people, the label does. Thanks!) The miscommunication was what led to the back-and-forth, but Mustard says it actually helped strengthen their friendship in the end!

We got like, a big, big, big, big entourage, you know what I’m saying? You just got to see who would pick whose side, and you would see who wouldn’t pick each other’s side. You got calls from people – I got calls from people, he got calls from people that would say, “I’m riding with you,” or “I’m riding with YOU,” and at the end of the day it’s like, why are you riding with either one of us? We’re both brothers, we’re supposed to fight and get it over with. If that’s the case, you’re not supposed to ever do that.

Real talk! Check…

(Video) Fabolous Speaks On Media’s Misconception Of “Beef” With Drake

Earlier this year, Rolling Stone published a somewhat controversial interview with Drake, where he seemingly spoke negatively about Kanye West’s Yeezus album. (Drake would later blast the legendary publication, adding that these quotes were “not for the interview portion.”) “There were some real questionable bars on there,” Drake allegedly said to Rolling Stone. “Like that ‘Swaghili‘ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some sh*t like that.” Though he also clarified that “Kanye’s the reason why I’m here,” and, “I love everything about that guy,” the media tried to paint it as a beef with Ye…and as a shot at Fabolous as well.

(Video) I Love The 90s: Fabolous Edition

Fabolous’ new album The Young OG Project drops on Christmas Day. In previous interviews about the project, Loso explained that it is “very ’90s-inspired and ’90s themed.” “It was a golden era in hip-hop to me,” the rapper told MTV upon announcing it. “It was where I fell in love with hip-hop and really admired everything that was going on within the culture. I was introduced to hip-hop in the ’80s but the ’90s is when it flourished and you saw different people, different styles and different regions emerge – it was a very diverse and versatile time and that’s another reason why it sticks to me.” Keeping with the theme, Loso has since thrown a 90s birthday bash, and released an album trailer reenacting the classic 1990 film, The King of New York. Because of this, MTV decided to bring back their sister station VH1’s now-defunct I Love The 90s series for a special Fabolous edition, where he reminisces over our favorite fashions, movies, television shows and video games. Check it out below.

(Video) Rae Sremmurd’s Backwards Spelling Bee Is Hilarious

Mike WiLL Made It’s protegees Rae Sremmurd got their name from Mike’s Drummer’s Ear label, obviously spelling it backwards to switch it up a bit. (You’re welcome for the ‘mind blown’ moment if you weren’t aware of that.) To have some fun, MTV linked up with the duo – who individually go by Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy – to challenge them with a backwards spelling bee. Using words like their record label’s name (Interscope,) random objects and even their own names, the duo make an attempt at doing things backward and, well…the results are the hilarity below.
