Auto:(Photos) This Rare 1970 Hemi Charger Will Blow The Doors Off Your Charger

So you think your doing your thing with one of the newer generation Dodge Chargers? You think that engine under your hood is mean? How about how much do you think your charger is worth? Sorry to tell you guys this 1970 Hemi Charger will embarrass you in every sense of the word. This red muscle car is one of only 56 HEMI Chargers built that year with a four-speed manual transmission. Not enough? OK, then you should know it’s one of just ten HEMI Chargers that were sold with the R/T SE package, including Cragar rims and Parnelli Jones tires. What is even more special about this car is the value. It is set to go up for auction in the middle of May, where the price is expected to pass $200,000 easily. All the newer generation Mopar style cars like the Charger and Challenger are hot, but they don’t got nothing on their old school models. Check out the pics of the ride after the jump in the gallery.

Auto Talk: Mopar celebrates 75 years with bunch of Chicago-bound special editions

This year Mopar is celebrating 75 years since its name – a combination of MOtor and PARts – was first trademarked. During that time, Mopar has evolved to become synonymous with performance parts for Chrysler and Dodge vehicles, as well as amp’d-up specialty package vehicles, vehicle service and maintenance, and add Fiat to the long list of Chrysler Group brands it supports since the Italian automaker took part ownership in the smallest of Detroit’s Big 3. Auto Talk: Dodge Charger Redline pops its top with Mopar juice

We have to hand it to Dodge for injecting an extra dose of octane-induced excitement into otherwise staid segments. Take the Charger, for example, that manages to give the full-size family sedan a muscle-car attitude. The new Dart promises to apply a similar formula to a smaller class, but while Dodge was busy lifting the veil on that Focus-sized sedan, Mopar was showcasing the modified Charger you see here. Auto Talk:Mopar bringing Chrysler 200 Super S, Dodge Charger Redline to Detroit Auto Show

The 2013 Dodge Dart is a big deal for Chrysler, so it makes sense that the majority of the company’s attention at the Detroit Auto Show will be focused around the new C-segment sedan. But since the automaker doesn’t want to blow its whole show presence on just one vehicle, its Mopar tuning arm has stepped in to create two new vehicles for show-goers to ogle – the Chrysler 200 Super S and Dodge Charger Redline.
