The Perseid meteor shower is tonight. Get a blanket, and try to escape city lights. Hit the jump to find out the best time to look up!
This morning a meteor injured more than 900 people when it fell from the sky near Russia’s Ural region. The number of those injured is expected to rise as more reports come in. Thus far, only 34 of those injured needed to be hospitalized while the others just needed some medical attention. A reported 270 buildings have been damaged due to the meteor , which caused a huge flash and boom when it crashed to Earth. The Russian Academy of Science has announced that the meteor was about 10 tons before it fell to Earth. Watch video of the shower below.
