Aretha Franklin has joined in the efforts to help out the residents of Flint, Michigan who are currently being plagued by lead-fused water. Several celebs including, The Game, Big Sean and Diddy have made huge monetary and water donations to the Flint Water Crisis and now Aretha Franklin, who’s a Detroit native herself has announced that she will provide free hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn as well as food to 50 residents of Flint in need of assistance. The Queen of Soul opened up about her decision to donate saying,

“Detroiters usually come to the aid of Detroiters — and Flint is certainly regarded as Detroit. Hang in there.”
