NBA: Luol Deng Takes His Talents To South Beach, Signs Two Year Deal With Miami Heat

Just a short time ago, free agent forward Luol Deng agreed to a two year/$20 million dollar contract to join the Heat. Deng will basically replace Lebron at the same position, although obviously not on the same level. This is still a good signing for the Heat because Deng is no lame on the court and besides the big name free agents teams were after him just as much. The deal includes a option for Deng on the second year if he wanted to again be a free agent. The Heat are doing all they can to still put a solid team on the floor and compete.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were expected to be much better this year and make it to the playoffs but so far they have a 16-31 record with the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference.  They traded troubled center Andrew Bynum to the Chicago Bulls for Luol Deng which should’ve helped things but Deng says the Cavs are a complete mess.

NBA: Joakim Noah Says Luol Deng Trade ‘Definitely Hurt’

When Chicago moved Luol Deng to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Andrew Bynum and Draft picks—so just cap relief and picks, essentially—it was expected that some of the guys on the Bulls wouldn’t be too happy. Big man Joakim Noah was honest about the hurt he felt, but also said he’s since learned he needs to move on.
