Hip Hop mogul, Dr. Dre is being sued by his housekeeper because she claims that her almost $2k/per week salary was not enough for all of the pain and stress she endured while on the job. She says he and his wife did not intervene when she was being bullied and and overworked by other in the house. The housekeeper was fired while in the hospital for work related reasons. Jas Prince Sues Cash Money For $11 Million Over Drake
Jas Prince has been at odds with Cash Money for some time now, after he reportedly never received the royalties he’s due for bringing Drake to them. At this point, it seems the only way you get your money from Birdman and co. is by suing, so I guess Jas is on the right path! The Rap-A-Lot Records heir says in the lawsuit that Cash Money was to pay him 22% of all of Drake’s royalties, net profits and other advances – which now totals up to $11 million. The tricky part is – Drake was signed to Jas’ Aspire Music Group, and Jas says Wayne and Drake’s manager, Cortez Bryant, breached the original agreement by shuffling Drizzy over to Young Money from Cash Money. Unfortunately, due to Jas’ role with Aspire (I’m unsure of what that role is,) he can’t legally sue Cash Money, so now he’s asking the court to appoint a receiver to do so on his behalf. For their part, Cash Money denies they owe Jas 22% of anything. Wonder if he’ll get his coins!
A$AP Rocky Files Countersuit Against His Former Manager
A$AP Rocky’s former manager Geno Sims is suing him for $850k, for money he says the Harlem rapper owes him from their time working together over the years. Rocky has now filed a countersuit, though, saying that Sims deserves nothing because he breached their contract by disclosing information about his finances, personal life and his business to others. Rocky also says he brought in a second manager in 2011 and Sims’ contract was renegotiated then, and it was made clear in his termination papers in 2014 that he won’t be getting anything.
