Laverne Cox, the accredited actress known for breaking barriers as a transgender woman, recently appeared on Lip Sync Battle and performed one as one of her favorites, Beyoncé. (Bey also appeared on the show earlier this year, coming out as a surprise during Channing Tatum’s performance.) Cox performed “Lose My Breath” against her Orange Is The New Black co-star Samira Wiley doing “O.P.P.” – and clearly, Bey appreciated the show. Orange Is The New Black‘s own Laverne Cox reveals that Bruce has been confiding in her and seeking advice on the whole process. Bruce reached out to Cox prior to his big interview with Diane Sawyer just to talk about what he’s going through. Cox says, “I had spoken to Bruce several months back. The same person who I spoke to on the phone, who really just loves their children so much and wants their family to be happy was the person I saw on television last night.” She then went on to say, “I told Bruce, ‘This is like another gold medal.’ He said, ‘This is better than a gold medal.’”
