There were reports all of last season about the Brooklyn Nets trying to trade Deron Williams and Joe Johnson but so far they haven’t been able to yield any viable offers. Joe Johnson is set to make $24.9 million next season and Deron Williams is set to make $21 million next season (and $22.3 million the season after that). The Nets just don’t see the two players in their future and the “star” players who were once part of the “Big 3” weren’t even mentioned in the team’s letter to the fans.

The Nets however were unable to find a practical solution in unloading center Brook Lopez and couldn’t come to an agreement on a three-team trade despite discussing options with several teams.
