Australian radio DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian’s prank lead to the suicide of Nurse Jacintha Saldanha. The DJs called the hospital that Saldanha worked at claiming to be the Queen of England asking for information about Kate Middleton’s condition. Although Saldanha didn’t even give the DJs classified information, she did answer their call and had them transferred to a nurse who did give them information. Read more below.

A nurse at the UK hospital Kate Middleton was staying during pregnancy complications tragically took her own life on Friday, after being the victim of a phone prank from two radio personalities in Australia. It’s a controversial topic, as many argue that the two radio guys shouldn’t be held accountable as they could have never foreseen such drastic events transpiring as a result of their call, while on the other hand, her death was a direct result (or was it?) of their actions. Prince William & Kate Middleton Release Statement After Hospital Worker’s Suicide
A hospital worker, Jacintha Saldanha, committed suicide after two shock DJs pulled an awful prank on her. The DJs pretended to be the Queen and Prince Phillip and asked to speak to the Duchess. Saldanha was helping out at the reception desk and fell for the joke so she switched the line to a nurse who divulged personal, medical information to the shock DJs and was found dead earlier today. The nurse was found unconscious at the hospital she works for at about 9:30 this morning.
