(Video) Aside From The Part About Her Iggy Azalea Is All For Macklemore’s “White Privilage II”

Macklemore’s “White Privilege II” calls on a few names of individuals that seem to take the culture of other races, and use it for their own personal use; Iggy Azalea is one of those names. Although she sorta voiced her opinion before-and got slammed for it-she has something to say again. While running through LAX, TMZ spotted Iggy. A cameraman asked the “Azillion” artist shows Mack nothing but respect. She agrees with him to an extent-that extent being her name drop.

Macklemore Speaks Out On “White Privilege II” & Iggy Azalea Mention

Macklemore’s song “White Privilege II” created quite a wave on social media last week, getting some much-needed dialogue flowing between many different races. Whether you feel Macklemore did the song out of sincerity or for brownie points aside, you can’t deny that it has sparked some necessary conversations about race and racism – and that’s always a positive thing! One of those convos was less positive, and that was the one surrounding Iggy Azalea and her mention in the second verse. Along with Miley Cyrus and Elvis, Macklemore adds in Iggy’s name to say that people often him compare him to them, grouping them all into the “cultural appropriators” group. It was less of a diss and more of a statement about an observation he’d made, but nonetheless, people attacked and laughed at Iggy for it, and she eventually responded to a fan saying if he had any such feelings, he shouldn’t have been so friendly with her over the years – and of course that only led to more drama.

(Photo) Talib Kweli Slams Iggy Azalea For Her Take On Macklemore’s “White Privilege II”

Iggy Azalea seems to find herself at the center of controversy more often than not. Friday (January 22)rapper, Macklemore released his record “White Privilege II”, off his upcoming album, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made. The track is the sequel to his record “White Privilege” from his The Language Of My World album and in the nearly nine minute song he explores the the racial injustice happening in America, Black Lives Matter and more. At one point, Macklemore suggests artists like Miley Cyrus, Elvis and Iggy Azalea have “exploited and stolen the music, the moment/ The magic, the passion, the fashion, you toy with/ The culture was never yours to make better.” After being questioned by a fan on Twitter about her feelings on Macklemore’s lyrics, Iggy shot back saying “He shouldn’t have spent the last 3 yrs having friendly convos and taking pictures together at events etc if those were his feelings.” Now, Talib Kweli is chiming in on the conversation around the so-called “diss” saying Iggy Azalea misinterpreted the lyrics, which backs everything Macklemore was talking about. Behind The Lyrics: Macklemore Disses Iggy Azalea On “White Privilege II”; Iggy Responds

In 2005, Macklemore released the song “White Privilege” on his album, The Language Of My World. Now as he gears up to release his new album This Unruly Mess I’ve Made with Ryan Lewis, he’s released part 2, and it’s definitely sparking a lot of conversations. “We’re more concerned with being called racist than we are with racism,” Macklemore raps on the song, as he looks into the topic of the racial injustice in America, his motives understandably being questioned when he wants to help with the #BlackLivesMatter movement and more.
