(Photos) Homeland Security Wants Silicon Valley Office

On Tuesday April 21, 2015, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson illustrated the department’s plan to establish an integral role in cyber security to combat cyberspace terrorism. The agency will open a satellite office in Silicon Valley. Their objectives are to join with tech companies to improve cyber security, reciprocate information while simultaneously recruiting tech workers for government jobs. It is noted that companies like Yahoo, Microsoft and Google, have expressed their discomfort with governments data-collecting practices that seize communications and information, using national security as justification. Homeland Security sent out a confirmation tweet, reading “At #RSAC, Sec. Johnson announces #DHS will open satellite office in Silicon Valley to help save our friends there. #DH SATRSA. Cyber security must be a partnership between government and private sector. We need each other, and we must work together. Sec Johnson #D SATRSA ” (BizJournal, 2015).

(Photos) This Would Definitely Be Worse Than NSA Spying!!

We all hear about unmanned drone strikes in war torn countries, safe because troops don’t have to go in, and US lives aren’t lost(although lives, and a lot of the time innocent lives, ARE lost), but what if Drones were in the US, patrolling us, would we still be ‘safe’?!

Shooter At Houston Airport Left A Suicide Note!!

Carnell Marcus Moore opened fire in George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, initiating a sequence that would ultimately cost him his life. He entered the airport toting a bag holding an AR-15 a Gideon Bible, and clutching a pistol. Moore then fired shots into the ceiling, a homeland security agent on site told the gunman to lower his firearm, that is when Moore turned the gun on himself. The homeland security agent fired at Moore, but Moore pulled the trigger on his pistol at the same time, his body has been taken to the coroner to decipher which of the bullets proved to be the fatal one. After an investigation of Moore, authorities found among several other things, cryptic messages, evidence that Moore attempted to kidnap a woman earlier this week with whom he was infatuated. Investigators also found a suicide note saying, “the monster within me was getting stronger and while I could not save myself I could spare others.” It was also made clear that Moore wanted the authorities to assist him in his death.

Homeland Security Orders Customs To Verify All Student Visas

Following the Boston Marathon bombings and the arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s friends, Homeland Security is now ordering customs to verify all student visas as soon as possible. Dzhokhar’s three friends, who throw away his laptop and backpack full of fireworks, were all in the country on student visas. One of the three friends was let back into the country in January without a valid visas. Although I do think that all student visas should be verified, I feel like they should have been verified all along and something horrific shouldn’t have to occur for things to get done properly.  Read more below.
