The League of Young Voters Education Fund, Snoop Lion and BET will host “No Guns Allowed: Disarming Violence in Our Community,” a roundtable dialogue on the impact of gun violence in urban communities. One year after the death of their son, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, continue to speak out and advocate against gun violence. To a great capacity, they would like all children to know that they can walk the streets and not be afraid to make it to their intended destination. “We (want to) make sure that no other parents have to go through what we have gone through in the last year,” Fulton told CNN’s Piers Morgan. I couldn’t imagine. Fulton and Martin also mention how they are aware that the trial for George Zimmerman is out of their hands. What ever jurors decided, they will be content with that. “We just want to have that trial, and let the jury decide,” she said. “And whatever decision comes out of that, we’re going to accept that. “We may not like it, but we’re going to accept it.” I just hope everything works out. RIP: 15-Year-Old Girl Who Performed At President Obama’s Inauguration Killed In Chicago
A beautiful 15-year-old girl with a promising future ahead of her has been shot and killed by a stray bullet in Chicago, just a little over a week after she had the honor of dancing at President Obama’s inauguration. Shortly after she and her friends left their prestigious King College Prep high school yesterday, they decided to hang at the park a few blocks away. Little did Hadiya Pendleton know, those were the final moments of her life.
President Obama Pushes Restrictions On Assault Weapons And Reveals The Gun-Control Proposal
President Obama has called on Congress for new and tougher restrictions on the assault weapons ban including 10 round limit on magazine clips. It’s about time someone is putting their foot down. This is something that the government should have saw coming and fixed way before the gun thing got out of control. Obama shows us his 23 step plan towards anti-gun violence. Starting with 1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system. Then, ending with 23.
