He has exhibited on numerous occasions that he is never afraid to address things that others in the spotlight may shy away from. Prior to the Spurs game against the Raptors on Thursday, Coach Pop was asked what the annual observance of Black History Month means to him. As you might expect, he spoke freely and in depth about it and as you will see, its another reason why players around the league love him.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich absolutely ripped into Donald Trump and anyone who voted for him in an emotional, thoughtful rant during an appearance on the Spurs nation podcast. He is now the third NBA coach this week to speak out with no filter about how they feel about Trump and the fact he was elected. Steve Kerr and Stan Van Gundy went off in their own way as well. Popovich’s seemed not ready to speak on the topic yet as he was still digesting it all but he then just let it all flow.

Well this is certainly an odd but funny sight. Cam’ron linked up San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. Everyone knows Pop as being stoic, standoffish and a man of very little words but he linked up with the jokester Cam’ron. I would love to know how this conversation went but the two posed for a flick and Cam joked about turning down a 10-day contract. He does have basketball skills though.

Have to give credit to Spurs coach, Gregg Popovich. Despite his team basically being ran out of the building by the OKC Thunder and watching their season end, coach Pop was in a better than expected mood post game. Maybe it’s something that comes with time and being in the playoffs as much as he has, that you know sometimes you are going to take the loss while someone else celebrates. The Spurs have damn sure been on that celebrating side plenty of times in the past fifteen years but OKC may have put an end to that era last night. While that part remains to be seen, Coach Pop was still exactly who he always is, even having fun with a reporter.
