NFL: “I’m OK” Phone Call Costs Troy Polamalu a $10K Fine

Rules are rules. NFL: Packers Charles Woodson Fined $10K For Throwing Punch

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl The NFL fined Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson $10,000 for throwing a punch in the regular-season opener against the New Orleans Saints, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The Packers were penalized 15 yards in the third quarter for Woodson’s punch. He wasn’t ejected.


Tennis: Serena Williams Fined $2,000 By US Open

Tournament referee Brian Earley issued his ruling a day after Williams was cited by chair umpire Eva Asderaki for a code violation for verbal abuse during a 6-2, 6-3 loss to Sam Stosur in the women’s singles championship match at Flushing Meadows.
