Confirmed in a tweet by director Malcolm D. Lee, both Nicki Minaj and Common will be starring in the third installment of the popular Barbershop film franchise – 11 years after its last sequel. Lee also confirmed the film’s original stars, Ice Cube, Eve and Cedric the Entertainer, will be returning as well. Though the tweet has been captured and circulated around social media, it does appear that it’s no longer on Lee’s timeline – though he has been RTing articles confirming Common’s participation. I wouldn’t be too surprised if this has something to do with contract negotiations with Ms. Minaj… No word on a release date yet, but via Eve’s Twitter, we know that table reads are already underway.
