On Friday a man was arrested for threatening letters containing white powder to Congress. The letters and the white powder tested negative for toxic substances. 39-year-old Christopher Lee Carlson, from Portland Oregon, was arrested on two criminal counts after sending over 100 letters to Congress. Congress just passed the payroll tax-cut extension and the bill is currently on it’s way to President Obama’s desk. The bill was one of President Obama’s most important actions this year. The $143 billion package would extent the tax-cut for the rest of 2012 and will cut Medicare reimbursements to doctors. The House approved the bill with a vote 293-132 and the Senate with 60-36.
