In honor of the late Capital STEEZ, Pro Era has announced their second annual STEEZ Day concert. This year, they move the festivities over to the west coast – which is odd, considering they all hail from NYC. On Thursday, July 7, Pro Era (Joey Bada$$, Nyck Caution, CJ Fly and Kirk Knight) as well as the A$AP Mob, Danny Brown, Raury and more will take over The Novo in Los Angeles, with proceeds going to benefit Steez’s family. (Video) Maino Says Troy Ave’s Comments On Capital STEEZ Were “A Bit Much”
In a new sit-down with Vlad TV, Brooklyn native Maino spoke on the beef between his fellow BK rappers, Troy Ave and Joey Bada$$. Cool with both, Maino says he wanted to help squash it, but that it’s something he feels he should leave alone. He also noted that Troy’s diss to the deceased Capital STEEZ was “a bit much,” but commends him for not backing down amid the backlash that followed. Check out the whole interview below.
Troy Ave on Capital STEEZ Lyrics: “I got friends that’s killing sh*t, his friends are killing themselves”
Yesterday morning, Troy Ave released a diss track to Joey Bada$$, and many say he crossed the line when he threw a shot at Joey‘s deceased group member, Capital STEEZ. STEEZ committed suicide in 2012 after a serious battle with depression – something Troy feels makes them “suckas forever.” He first shared his thoughts on Instagram in multiple posts, then called in to Sway In The Morning to explain further. “This is real versus fake. This is the dealer verses the user,” he said. “I was like aight, I could bust his head or I could make a song. Or both. Depends how I feel.”
