This one should definitely have Birdman rubbing his hands. The Cash Money CEO and his co-CEO/brother, Ronald “Slim” Williams have been chosen by BMI as the 2013 recipients of the BMI Icon Award. The hip-hop moguls will receive the award at BMI’s annual R&B/Hip-Hop Awards on August 22nd. “Bryan and Ronald Williams’ creative and entrepreneurial acumen has resulted in over 20 years of global success,” Catherine Brewton, BMI VP, writer/publisher relations said in a statement. “This recognition is one of the greatest honors we’ve ever received,” Slim added. “It’s something that my brother and I would’ve never been able to imagine at the genesis of our label.” Congrats!
