It looks like Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda is in way more trouble than we thought. The 20-year-old “Hot N*gga” artist is currently serving time at Rikers Island for both gun and drug charges. However, it seems his ride or die girlfriend Kimberly Rousseau got caught up in his mess, as well. According to the New York Daily News, “a guard allegedly saw Kimberly Rousseau, 18, pull a black latex glove balloon wrapped in black electrical tape out of her bra and hand it to him.” According to reports, the guard apparently opened the balloon and found a “sharp metal object.” Both Bobby and his girl were charged with promoting prison contraband. She pleaded guilty to both promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon, meaning she will most likely be serving some time, as well. She’s due back in court next month, so stay tuned to see what the outcome will be.
Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel and four other defendants appeared in front of the Manhattan Supreme Court today, and were given an official trial date of October 5. Prosecutors also put in their recommendations for their respective bids as part of plea deals, giving 7 years for Rowdy, and 8 years for Bobby, though both of their lawyers turned them down. The trial is expected to last anywhere from two to four months. Considering they’ve already been in there for 6 months now, that’s slight work!
While being in prison is no walk in the park – I could only imagine – Bobby Shmurda tries to look on the brighter side of a bad situation. There are a few hurdles, some in the form of C.O.’s. “Some of them be hatin’,” Bobby told XXL magazine during a phone conversation(s) from Riker’s Island. However, there are also some things, and people that has made his bid a little less difficult. Not only does the 20-year-old rapper write, but he reads, and despite the contrary, there have been a few industry cats that have reached out. “Maino came and showed me some love. He’s trying to get me out, too. I talked to Migos, I talked to French. I talked to Fab. I talked to Meek,” he said. “Meek sent me some letters. I tried to send some back. I’m trying to get in contact with him. I got a lot of love for Meek Mill, man. That’s my guy right there, I got a lot of love for him right there, that’s big bro.” For more, hit the jump.

Bobby Shmurda has been behind bars for about 6 months now. Things don’t seem to be going too well for the rapper as he was recently involved in a jail house brawl.
