It looks like Barbie is trying to diversify their doll’s body types to make everyone feel comfortable when playing with the miniature lady-like toys. The Barbie brand has officially added “tall,” “petite” and “curvy” to their line-up, making the dolls seem more realistic for the younger kids. It is unhealthy for children to see this “perfectly” shaped doll with a flat stomach and a curvy body. The image it gives out can be harmful in the long run. “We are excited to literally be changing the face of the brand – these new dolls represent a line that is more reflective of the world girls see around them – the variety in body type, skin tones and style allows girls to find a doll that speaks to them,” said Evelyn Mazzocco, Senior Vice President & Barbie’s Global General Manager. She also added, “We believe we have a responsibility to girls and parents to reflect a broader view of beauty.”
