School Denies Special Needs Child Lunch Due To $8 Bill

5-year-old, John Robert Caravella, is a kindergartener who has autism and cannot speak. His parents were outraged when John came home from school with a note informing them that John was refused a $2.30 school lunch because his had an outstanding bill of $8. The little boy was given mini-muffins by his mother for a snack that day and that was the only thing the boy had to eat while he sat in the cafeteria watching his classmates eat lunch. The school has since apologized to John and his parents, but his parents have made the decision to send their son to a private school where he will get better care. I know that you can’t overlook every, single outstanding bill but refusing a 5-year-old or a child of any age or any mental capacity lunch is unacceptable. Read more below. Julie A.

Autistic Boy Found Alive After Being Missing For 5 Days

A 9-year-old boy with Autism was alive found in a Virgina park five days after he went  missing. The boy, who can’t speak, wondered away from his father, his father’s girlfriend, and a younger brother during a hiking trip. The boy was found two miles from where he first disappeared from.
