NBA: Atlanta Hawks Looking to Get Coach Stan Van Gundy & Dwight Howard

After a big shakeup and trading away their star player Joe Johnson, the Atlanta Hawks finished sixth in the Eastern Conference and suffered a first round outser at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.  While some may consider their season underwhelming, others consider it a success when you look at what they had to work with.  Still more shakeups are coming as Josh Smith becomes an unrestricted free agent and will likely walk and they’re likely going to let go of head coach Larry Drew.  Who do they want as replacements?  Read more after the jump.


NBA Report: Josh Smith ‘Highly Unlikely’ to Re-Sign With the Atlanta Hawks

One of the biggest names leading up to the NBA trade deadline was Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks.  The team was publicly hesitant  about giving Smith the max contract he desired and it was believed he would walk at the end of the season.  Because of those reasons many assumed that without a doubt he would be traded before the deadline.  Hawks GM Danny Ferry shocked everyone when he pulled the plug on a potential deal with the Milwaukee Bucks and decided to keep the soon to be free agent.  It turns out he may pay dearly for that decision one way or another.  Read more after the jump.


NBA: Atlanta Hawks Taking Trade Offers For Josh Smith

Josh Smith is among the names most frequently mentioned when discussing trade rumors most notably in association with the Lakers and Pau Gasol.  While Gasol is sitting out with a foot injury, Smith is playing a pretty high level but is also nearing the end of his contract.  While the Hawks don’t want to let him go they also aren’t willing to pay him the max contract he feels he deserves. NBA: Josh Smith “Devastated” Kyrie Irving & Jrue Holiday Made All-Star Team

It gets so boring sometimes when athletes don’t say what is on their mind, and they only make PC comments. So when a player says what he is really thinking you gotta love it. Josh Smith of the Hawks stepped away from playing nice and said what he felt regarding him and teammate Al Horford not being selected for this years all-star game. You can definitely make a case for Smith and Horford, but a case can also be made for the 2 players he mentions, Kyrie Irving and Jrue Holiday. Read more after the jump.
