Former Staff Sergent, Robert Bales was just charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder for the massacre in Afghanistan and is facing the death penalty. Bales went on a rampage killing 17, eight of them were children, and then burned some of their bodies after a night of drinking. The actual cause of his rampage is unknown, but the case is shedding light on the mental health of U.S. soldiers, especially those who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, the American solider who is accused of going on a killing rampage while drunk in Afghanistan, is said to be having serious money issues and was denied a promotion. Bales, who is being held in a United States military jail, is accused of killing 16 people in Afghanistan, including women and children, before setting some of their bodies on fire.
