Taylor Swift was absent at the VMAs last night, but it’s not because she was scared of what Kanye West might say! Well, more than likely, anyway. TMZ reveals that Taylor had to go to Tennessee, as she was actually selected to serve jury duty, and this morning the selection process began. Now, she probably definitely could have still made it with a late night flight or even a private jet…but we’ll let her cook. The criminal case in Nashville involves charges of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and domestic assault. Taylor’s one of 30 potential jurors, but she hasn’t been selected just yet. Highly doubt she will either, but let’s see!

During the 2016 MTV VMAs last night, singer Nick Jonas performed his new single “Bacon,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Instead of hitting the stage inside of Madison Square Garden like fellow performers Beyoncé, Rihanna, Future and more, Ty and the former member of The Jonas Brothers opted for a different approach, and performed live from the Tick Tock Diner. As Nick made his way through the famed NYC diner, the camera cut to various celebrity cameos, which included Giants star Odell Beckham Jr., social media stars the Fat Jew and Joanne The Scammer, rappers A$AP Ferg, Fabolous and Remy Ma, and DNCE, winners of the Best New Artist award and a group that features Nick‘s brother, Joe Jonas. He then met Ty outside, who kept it very LA while performing in front of two low-riders on the street. Check out the performance below!

Rihanna To Receive Vanguard Award At 2016 VMAs
Rihanna will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs this year, going down August 28 in NYC. Previous recipients of this award include MichaelJackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Guns N’ Roses, The Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé and Kanye West – so she’s in good company to say the least! Rih will also hit the stage that night as well, and I’m sure she’ll have quite the performance up her sleeve!
