There’s major confusion about the supposed fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. McGregor got a boxing license in California, which led many to believe that he wants to make the highly anticipated bout happen. Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, however, said the license meant nothing and they’re nowhere close to making the fight happen. Mayweather himself said he’s content in retirement and doesn’t need to fight anymore. Well, now his friend 50 Cent is telling UFC President Dana White that Mayweather does indeed want the fight to happen.
White appearing on Fox Sports Live yesterday, relayed a conversation he had with 50 Cent after bumping into the rap mogul.
White explained:
“I was at dinner in New York for [UFC] 205, and we bumped into each other at dinner. So we were hanging out, we were talking for awhile, and then I went over and sat back at my table and I ate. And then when we were leaving, he said to me, ‘When’s your boy gonna fight Floyd?’
“And I said, ‘My boy? Who are you talking about, Conor?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Floyd don’t want to fight Conor.’ And he goes, ‘He does, Dana. He’s dead serious about it.’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, man. Call Floyd and see what’s going on.’”
Did 50 Cent say that? Probably. Does 50 Cent really know what Mayweather wants to do? Maybe, maybe not…
