Michael “Jim” Delligatti, the inventor of Big Mac’s has passed away at 98-years-old. He died in his Pittsburgh home surrounded by his family. Delligatti owned many McDonalds franchises in Pennsylvania. He first thought of the Big Mac in the mid-1960s.
The plan was to have a bigger burger than what McDonalds had to offer at the time. At first they weren’t with the idea but once they finally tired it out, it took off, in 1968 to be exact.
Rest in Peace Michael “Jim” Delligatti.
