No one stopped her physically, however, the Washington Spirits’ owners decided to play the National Anthem before Megan Rapinoe and her team entered the field…so that she couldn’t take a knee.
Rapinoe made it clear that the knee she took earlier this week was to show support to Colin Kaepernick, not a coincidence. Just in case anyone else on her team decided to support her, the opposing team’s leadership decided to nip that in the bud quickly and quietly. Here is their statement…quite lengthy…
