Last night Ferguson protesters were commemorating the 2nd anniversary of Michael Brown’s historic and controversial death, when a car took a turn for the worst in it’s direction.
Around 10 p.m. local time Tuesday night, a car drove directly into a group of protesters who were blocking West Florissant Avenue, according to the Associated Press among other sources. Once the car hit the group of people, shots rang out but no injuries from gunfire have been reported.
One young man who was hit so hard by the vehicle, “he flew into the air and his shoes were knocked off,” and rushed to the hospital. Groups of people surrounded the car trying to flee the scene and some sent shots its way. Video of the incident is below and it’s hard to watch. The man gets struck around the 1:40 mark:
