37-year-old Lakeem Keon Scott took and opened fire on a highway in Tennessee. It has been reported that Scott was upset about the recent police shootings around the the world. So far we know he has killed one person and wounded three others. Scott himself was later shot by police.
Scott shot at cars and also through a motel with a ‘automatic-style rifle.’ He also had a pistol and a large amount of ammunition. Police say he shot through the window of “Days Inn on Volunteer Parkway, wounding the motel’s clerk.” It has been reported that he then “indiscriminately fired at several vehicles driving on Volunteer Parkway.” Officers of the Bristol Police Department approached Scott.
“During that exchange, the investigation shows Scott fired at the three responding officers. After which the officers returned fire, striking Scott.”
This man was from New York and had no arrest record in Tennessee. 44-year-old Jennifer Rooney leaves behind her husband, a 12 year old son and a 10 year old daughter, as she was killed by Scott during the shooting. Her husband released a statement saying,
“Everything was good about Jennifer. She was a wonderful mother and wonderful wife. She was a big-hearted person who gave 110 percent to everyone — especially the children. Whether it was school or the martial arts they are involved in — she was always there for them.”
Things are really getting crazy now. I really pray things settle down and take a turn for the better.
