The Miami-Dade police have just seized $24 million from the home of a suspected weed dealer. This is known to be the biggest single cash seizure in the history of Miami. Sheesh!
The money was bundled in mostly $100 bills. It was sealed inside of heat-sealed bags stuffed into 24 orange 5 pound Home Depot buckets. 44 year old Luis Hernandez Gonzalez was arrested. His lawyer feels as though police are truly jumping the gun. This arrest was apart of an investigation police put together in 2010 on Hernandez. He was recorded giving advice on how to take care of sick marijuana plants. Authorities have now gotten a search warrant to check Hernandez’s ‘Blossom Experience.’ This is a store owned by him. Officials are sure that this is where he has a weed-growing industry. They found weed, weed seeds, and $180,000 in a safe. In his home police found heat sealed bags of money, steroids, and a loaded gun with extended clips. Hernandez will be facing charges such as money laundering, marijuana trafficking and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. Hernandez’s sister, Salma Hernandez was also charged.
