Prince’s latest protégé, singer Judith Hill, was with him on the jet that made an emergency landing to tend to his health just days before his passing.
“I thought he was gone,” she told the NY Times in a new piece. “We didn’t have anything on the plane to help him. We knew it was only a matter of time; we had to get down.”

When they got to the ground and got Prince to a hospital, Judith says he was “very cooperative” and “serious about getting help.” She adds that he told her:
“I had to fight for my life. I remember hearing your voices from afar and saying to myself, Follow the voices, follow the voices, get back in your body, you gotta to do this.”
