A Brooklyn teenager’s future was just sentenced to 19 to life because he was bored one day and set a mattress on fire. Smh.

Marcell Dockery was found guilty of murder and arson last month for setting a mattress on fire in the hallway of a Coney Island apartment building, in which he lived, in April 2014. He was 16 at the time.
NYPD Officer Dennis Guerra and his partner Officer Rosa Rodriguez responded to the fire and suffered from smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning, in which Guerra later died. The Brooklyn DA’s office cites Dockery admitted to starting the fire out of boredom…so many lives lost and altered for nothing in this scenario. Rest in peace.
