Back in February, Dereck Boles was kicked off the football team at Boise State University for reportedly violating team rules. Well we just found out last night that the rule he violated was “thou shall not bite the ear of a teammate” because that is exactly what he did and he actually wound up being arrested for it earlier this month!

Boles was arrested in Florida on May 9th and is set to be extradited back to Idaho to face felony charges over the biting incident. Boles was charged by the Boise Police Department for felony mayhem after a Feb. 12, which in the state of Idaho is a very serious charge.
According to Idaho statutes, mayhem is defined as “Every person who unlawfully and maliciously deprives a human being of a member of his body, or disables, disfigures or renders it useless, or cuts out or disables the tongue, puts out an eye, slits the nose, ear or lip, is guilty of mayhem.” The maximum punishment is 14 years in state prison.
Boles wasn’t exactly a key player on the team so they should be better off anyway.
