Its normally around this time of year where Activision and their developers begin releasing news and trailers for their new title in the Call of Duty franchise. Today they released their teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare!
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the next Call of Duty title being developed by Infinity Ward, the same developers who brought you Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Ghosts. The game was assumed to be a follow up of the Ghosts’ storyline where the world was left in a post-apocalyptic state after a, orbital satellite weapon known as ODIN was highjacked and targeted cities all across the globe.
In Ghosts, your mission was to destroy the ODIN satellite and bring the antagonist known as, Rourke, to justice. The game ended after a mission where you kill Rourke but towards the very end of the mission he seems to survive. From there it is believed that the next Call of Duty title will be chasing Rourke again but it is still unknown.
What we do know is that the world is still in the same state as it was when we left off in Call of Duty: Ghosts. The entire world is still war torn but the trailer seems to reveal a faction called the, Settlement Defense Front (SDF). Possibly a group whose aim is to rebuild the post-apocalyptic world. Granted that the world is completely destroyed technology is assumed to be limited, so features in recent Call of Duty’s such as exo-suits, double jumps, wall runs, etc. are rumored to be stripped in this next Call of Duty launch.
It looks as if Infinity Ward is willing to take Call of Duty back to its roots of boots on the ground, literally speaking.
What do you think about this next launch of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare? Will you be purchasing it?
