The Golden State Warriors are still on a quest to beat the 96′ Chicago Bulls record of 72-10. They hit some bumps in the final stretch however, losing to the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves.. According to Draymond Green, the Dubs are eager for the season to be over with.
Blowing a 17-point, third-quarter lead and committing 23 turnovers, the Warriors were stunned by an inspired and athletic Minnesota Timberwolves team in overtime, 124-117, and they have to wait just to become the second team in league annals to achieve 70 wins.“We came out and played a phenomenal first six minutes, locked in at both ends,” said coach Steve Kerr. “And then we decided to turn it into a show, and we started turning the ball over like crazy. We completely lost all the rhythm that we had built, and from that point on, we were not hitting the first open man. We were trying to hit the home run instead of a bunch of singles.”
Both Kerr and Green proffered an interesting notion — the Warriors have become bored with the regular season and need to get on to the playoffs. Kerr recalled that the Chicago Bulls of 1995-96, who hold the record at 72-10, struggled down the stretch and won just two of their final four. […] Said Green, “I think right now we’re at a point where it’s just human nature where we’re kind of ready for the regular season to end. You’re talking 82 games, you get bored with that after awhile. That’s no excuse, I’m just always going to give it to you real, and that’s as real as I can be.”
