There was a nationwide search for a police chief after Tom Jackson resigned last year according to St.Louis Public Radio. Ferguson City Manager De’Carlon Seewood said Moss ‘exemplifies the type of experience in law enforcement that we believe will enhance the many new programs within the Ferguson Police Department. Moss has also been reported to have been the President of the Miami Police Athletic League and is a current member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Moss has said that he applied for the position after speaking with a relative in St. Louis and remembering his teenage years in Overtown, where he witnessed violence all around him.
Hopefully Delrish Moss can make some changes in the city of Ferguson and stop the violence between civilians and police officers and civilians.
