Conor McGregor seems willing to at least have discussions with Floyd Mayweather and his camp about a potential fight down the road. Obviously many things would have to be hashed out, mainly money and just as important what kind of fight it would be. With Manny Pacquiao fading into the darkness fast after his comments about gay people, if Floyd ever was to fight one more time the truth is the biggest headlines would be if he fought McGregor even though he is from a different sport.

Speaking in an interview with Gareth A. Davies of BT Sport, the Notorious was asked about the prospect of fighting the American boxer, who retired last year having won all 49 of his professional fights.
“I’m open to discussions, come at me,” said McGregor on a potential superfight. “But I hold the key and it’s me who holds the key to the fight game. I am open minded, I am open to discussion, I love competition, I love fighting. It would be nice to make that fight if the fans were interested and wanted to see it.”
It was then put to McGregor that any potential tussle between the pair would be a “billion dollar fight,” to which his response was, “I’m all about those numbers, Gareth, so I would definitely do that, no problem.”
It would no doubt be awesome but McGregor needs to realize very fast that when it comes to him and Floyd, it is Mayweather who truly holds the key to a fight ever happening. He is the megastar who would bring the bulk of the dollars to the event.
Now the odds of this ever happening are slim to none, especially with Floyd’s age to consider the fight would have to happen within the next year or so and at least so far, Floyd seems very content and happy with retirement. He also likes tons of money so I guess we can have a small slimmer or hope he would come back for a 50th fight.
