Stephen Curry is arguably the greatest shooter we’ve ever seen in the game and the major question has been, how do you defend him? Well Carmelo Anthony employed a new trick Sunday night during the Knicks game against the Warriors.
Anthony palmed Curry’s head and accidentally scratched him.
“Some, uh, great defense,” Curry jokingly said about Carmelo Anthony trying to defend him by palming his face. “I’m glad they called a foul, though.”
Curry actually made a three-pointer on this possession but it was waived off as it was made after the foul was called.
“I was just putting my hand up,” said Anthony. “I didn’t want him to raise up. Helluva player. I was just trying to figure out a way how you can stop him.”
The Knicks actually were successful in stopping Curry as he finished with 13 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the field. But it didn’t matter because the Warriors other weapons stepped up including Klay Thompson who dropped 34 points and Draymond Green who had another triple-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The Warriors blew out the Knicks with a 116-95 win.
