LaMarcus Aldridge was supposed to be the biggest acquisition of the summer after he chose the San Antonio Spurs over the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and his former team, the Portland Trail Blazers. Aldridge is averaging 15.6 ppg and 8.7 rpg and the Spurs are doing pretty well with a 38-7 record and the 2nd seed in the Western Conference, but Aldridge hasn’t quite made the splash that was expected. Things got particularly bad on Monday night during the Spurs 120-90 blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors. Aldridge finished with just five points on 2/9 shooting from the field, three rebounds and three turnovers. As per usual, fans went IN on social media and today Aldridge’s Twitter account was no more.
Obviously I can’t say for sure that the two have any correlation but it sure seems like it.
Athletes often take social media breaks to focus on the season but they usually just stay off their pages for a while not delete them altogether. But hey whatever helps…
Oh yea, this also happened last night…
